چکیده
Purpose — to investigate the vitamin D supply in children with chronic viral hepatitis B (HBV) depending on activity of and stage liver fibrosis. Materials methods. Fifty HBV were examined. All underwent a comprehensive examination according recommendation elastography shear wave parenchyma determine Serum 25(OH)D concentration was determined verify diagnosis deficiency. The peculiarities HBV, gender, age, fibrosis, evaluated. study included who did not receive calcium for 6 months. Results. Children senior scholl age predomnanted among surveyed. more often registered boys 66.0% (n=33), while girls only 34.0% (n=17) (χ2=10.24; p=0.01). Among examined significantly (n=33) we observed HBeAg-positive hepatitis, 18.0% (n=9) diagnosed infection, HBeAg-negative infection 14.0% (n=7) children. In vast majority (70.0%) patients serum reduced (χ2=16.0; average 59.85 [13.4–181] nmol/l zone insufficiency. optimal found 30.0% (n=15) children, insufficiency 42.0% (n=21), deficiency 14 (28.0%). Gender, biochemical do affect level (p>0.05). analysis fibrosis reveal differences median between groups but all number low concentrations prevailed. Conclusions. is characterized mainly by course, predominance parenteral route infection. most reduced. There no statistically significant difference levels hepatitis. cirrhosis deficient D. research carried out accordance principles Helsinki declaration. protocol approved Local ethics committee participating institution. informed consent patient obtained conducting studies. Relationship between hepatitis B DNA Viral load in the liver and it\'s histology in patient with chronic hepatitis B
Background: Serial measurement of hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA levels in the liver and its relation with liver damage and serum HBV DNA levels are guide to begin and/or end a treatment course. This study evaluated the relationship between liver hepatitis B DNA viral load with liver histology in patients with chronic hepatitis B (HBV). Methods: Thirty patients with chronic anti-Hbe positive ...
متن کاملVitamin D levels in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Vitamin D deficiency is associated with several adverse health outcomes, and vitamin D appears to have systemic antimicrobial effects that may be crucial in a variety of both acute and chronic illnesses. In the present study, 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-OHD) levels were compared among patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection, naturally immunized individuals and control individuals. Thirty-...
متن کاملCan Viral Load Predict Liver Histology in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis B?
Introduction: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a global public health problem. Serum HBV DNA measurement is a non-invasive test that predicts the liver disease progression. The aim of this study was to determine the HBV DNA level and look for a relation between the HBV DNA level and liver histology. Methods: This was a cross sectional study on chronic...
متن کاملSustained suppression of viral replication in improving vitamin D serum concentrations in patients with chronic hepatitis B
Recently, the role of vitamin D in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) has attracted a lot attention. In this study, 128 naïve CHB patients (91 with positive HBeAg, 37 with negative-HBeAg) were enrolled, and 128 volunteers without liver diseases were enrolled as controls. Compared to that of healthy controls, the mean level of 25(OH)D3 in CHB patients was significantly lower; and the percent of patients ...

Background: We explored the effect of vitamin D receptor gene (VDR) polymorphisms in response to PEG-IFN treatment in Egyptian chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. Methods: Two hundred hepatitis B virus (HBV) patients (42.3±10.7 years) on PEG-IFN α-2a (180 μg /kg for 48 weeks) and one hundred control subjects (37.3 ±12 years) were enrolled in the study. Vitamin D levels a...
